Akoya Pearls

Akoya pearls come from the small Akoya oyster. They come mostly from Japan but also from Vietnam and China.

While most which reach the market are bleached white and then have a blush of pink colour added, naturally akoya pearls can be off white to gold and blue, also silvery, pink and green. Akoya pearls are prized for the metallic lustre of top quality pearls.
